Details:

We are very excited about this latest addition to our line up of select premium supplements. At Edible Science we don't like to take a hard sell approach to marketing our products. So forgive us if we get a little outspoken about other manufacturers claims for Beta Glucan.

Effectiveness of Beta glucan products appear to greatly decrease if the purity level falls below 80%. There are other active Beta Glucan linkages, like 2,3 and 3,6. These other linkages add to the total amount of carbohydrate content. The important fact here is it is the active Beta 1, 3-D glucan linkage that all the amazing research has been completed on, not the 2,3 and 3,6. So when a product is claiming 95% Beta Glucan and not specifically stating the active beta 1,3-D linkage on the label this is a red flag and buyer beware.

Samples for these comparisons were purchased directly from the manufacture and sent directly to the laboratory for independent "hands-off" testing. These tests were conducted at Johns Hopkins University & R-Tech Laboratories. R-Tech is ISO 17025 and ISO 9002 certified using methods approved by the FDA and the USDA.  These studies concluded that Beta Plus Glucan delivers more of the active ingredient for every dollar spent. Peer reviewed literature from Harvard, Tulane, University of Louisville, Baylor and host of other prestigious institutions confirm it. Properly manufactured Beta 1,3/1,6 glucan linkage material is perhaps the best activator/potentiator of the immune system ever discovered.

With the addition of Beta Plus 1 3-D Glucan to your diet you are building a strong resilient immune system capable of withstanding cold season, aiding in the fight against chronic disease, and handling the bombardment to your body of environmental toxins and stress.

Our beta 1 3-D Glucan is the only beta glucan to have its product tested and backed by studies from 10 major universities and 3 government agencies.

Our material has been tested in pre clinical and clinical studies on:
General immune enhancement
Cancer (breast, colon, lymphoma and others)
Radiation protection
Infectious disease ( bacterial, antibiotic resistant, fungal, and viral infections)

Our immune system is responsible for protecting us against infection. Without it we would succumb to any one of the many diseases floating around that we are exposed to on a daily basis.

It is under constant bombardment, whether from the food we eat, the air we breathe or the water we drink, not to mention whatever man can throw at it. In today's world, we need to maintain a healthy immune system. It's important to recognize this fact.

Viruses, bacteria and fungi form the main weapons that are aligned against us. Without the ability to combat these organisms, our lives would be turned upside down by the 'explosion' of disease that would inevitably destroy us.

The Immune System is one of the most complex biological systems in your body. Without it we would perish, or with a weakened one we would become much more susceptible to diseases.

Nutrition plays a very important part in maintaining proper immune system function.

With proper nutrition we are less susceptible to diseases. Proper nutrition allows for our body to provide proper immune support to fight off disease.

However a report, produced by the government, detailing the nutritional value of American's food supply, US Senate Document #264 states; "99% of the American people are deficient in minerals and a deficiency in any one or more important minerals actually results in disease."

Since so few of us consume foods genuinely fresh, nutritious and unadulterated, practically all of us need to supplement our diets with nutritional supplements that supports proper immune support function.

Isn't that the real purpose of nutritional supplements anyway, to feed our body's needs, so our immune system can do its job on its own?

Effective phagocytosis and the killing of invading pathogens by neutrophils is important for successful resistance to diseases. Phagocytosis also is the mechanism by which the body disposes of dead or dying cells.  Cell injury is the starting point for most diseases.

Neutrophils are a type of white blood cell that play a major role in the body's defense against bacteria, viruses and fungi. They play an important role in the defense against invading microorganisms. They are the frontline of defense within the innate immune system of our bodies.

Phagocytosis is defined as the engulfing and ingestion of bacteria or other foreign bodies by phagocytes. It is an important defense against infection and disease. It is the rate of response of this process which can mean the success or failure of the immune system to destroy the invader/threat.

Beta glucan is considered an external immunomodulator. External immunomodulators are substances that have been shown to modify the immune systems response to a threat upon it. It is an all-natural, food source derived dietary supplement. It modulates and potentiates the macrophage (white blood cells), keeping them in a highly prepared state for any threat our immune system may encounter. With this balancing effect, all subsequent immune responses improve. When your immune system is in this highly prepared state, the invading organisms do not have the time to build up force and strength before the immune system attacks, destroys and/or weakens the invader.

Beta glucan has over 1,600 general research papers ranging across 40 years. A majority of this health related research has been completed at some of the most prestigious institutions in the world, including Harvard Medical School, Tulane University, National Cancer Institute, Department of Defense and the Department of Agriculture, just to name a few. These studies have been performed on literally every health condition / disease known to humanity, and time and time again it has proven itself to be second to none. It has also been shown to provide beneficial effects in the sports / athletic health fitness field.
